Jewelry and Fashion Designer Jenne Rayburn Selected to Participate in The Vintage Bazaar & Music Festival

Boston, MA (PRWEB) June 17, 2012

Jenne Rayburn Handcrafted Jewelry and Wearable Art, a local Malden, MA, jewelry and fashion accessories designer and start-up, known for innovative designs and her vintage inspired aesthetic, has been selected to participate in The Vintage Bazaar & Music Festival in Salisbury, MA on June 23rd & 24th from 10am-5pm.

Held on the picturesque Pettengill Flower Farm, The Vintage Bazaar is an upscale outdoor market featuring antiques, architectural salvage, vintage jewelry & clothing, original art, artisan crafts and fresh flowers. I am thrilled to be a part of this great vintage show and have the opportunity to share a creatively displayed and thoughtfully curated selection of my handcrafted jewelry, said Jenne Rayburn, founder and designer of Jenne Rayburn Handcrafted Jewelry and Wearable Art. Vendors will design elaborate displays and create magical vignettes in hopes of capturing one of four show awards for best display and signage. More than shopping, this family oriented festival is a community event and a chance to spend time with old and new friends. Notes Jenne, Technically I will be working the show, but I have so much fun at a show like this, you can hardly call it work!

Jenne Rayburn found her vocation as a designer and creator while she was still a child. Crafting for herself wearable art from repurposed vintage costume jewelry and treasures found at the Goodwill using her mothers metalworking tools, she was regularly stopped by inquiring passersby interested in buying the unique pieces. As an interior designer and textile artist, Jenne is fascinated with pattern making and color: the simplicity, beauty and structural elements of natural formations, reflections and juxtapositions. I am especially inspired by the unlimited shapes and textures found in nature, reflects Jenne. By the rough and weathered New England coastal landscape, the abstract tapestry of the Palouse lentil and wheat fields where I grew up, the geometry of buildings and bridges, and the mix of color and texture in indigenous folk art. At the show Jenne Rayburn will be featuring collectible showstoppers made from found and vintage treasures, precious metals, and semi-precious gemstones that mix the charm of vintage with clean, modern lines. Each design brings with it a spectacular story.

The Vintage Bazaar will feature more than 130 selected vendors from across 11 states including Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, showcasing their finds and unique crafts at outdoor boutiques. The show is focused on bringing to market high quality vintage, antique and salvaged pieces, and repurposed materials and objects. Original artwork from local artists, unique artisan designs and upscale crafts also will be among the featured items. The market will showcase the farm’s display garden, as well as childrens activities and delicious local food.

In addition to treasure hunting, local musicians will perform live, foot tapping, music throughout both days of the festival. Bluegrass, Folk, Roots, with a bit of Country will be enjoyed by all that attend with free admission, making the Vintage Bazaar a fun-filled, and economical, family event.

The Pettengill Farm is at 45 Ferry Road, Salisbury MA. Admission is free with $ 1 onsite parking. ATMs and public restrooms are available. Doors open at 9:00am and the main event runs from 10:00am 5:00pm.

About:

Jenne Rayburn is a Boston-based jewelry/textile artist who also studied interior design and architecture, and her work evolves from the overlap between architecture, design, technology and art. Jenne is known for her designs made from reusing vintage textiles, findings and components, found while foraging in antique shops and vintage markets. A graduate of the University of Washington where she studied metalsmithing and fiber arts, and of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a MS in Design, Jenne has been designing jewelry and apparel for over 20 years. Perpetual curiosity and a passion for experimentation resulted in her first jewelry collection made from etched copper and brilliantly colored enamel. Since then Jenne has created six unique collections that combine careful workmanship with unique materials and designs. It is her hope that the wearers of her pieces will find joy in a delightful artistic statement, and also something that enhances their individuality and confidence.
