Peak Hosting Announces Their Sponsorship in the Silicon Beach Fest 2012 and the Silicon Beach Fest Hackathon

The Hackathon is part of a first-of-its-kind three-day conference created by, organized by, and featuring local companies and startups to celebrate the ecosystem of tech, startups and entertainment that are unique to LA. Panel topics focus on incubators, VCs, startups, entrepreneurship, and small business, as well as art, content, fashion, retail, action sports, and social good. Similar panel topics are co-located at Hubs including: Hollywood, Startup, Social Media, Branding / Advertising, Community, and more.

“Silicon Beach” has been popularly used to refer to the growing tech startup community in LA, where activity is predominantly located in the beach neighborhoods of Santa Monica and Venice, and extends to Hollywood, Downtown and Pasadena.

Beginning Thursday night Hackathon teams will present their pitch with the direct help of CTO coaches from some of Los Angeless top companies. Hackers will have roughly 48 hours to develop an MVP, produce slides, and pitch their creations to a panel of judges comprised of the top CEOs in Los Angeles.

Steve Auerbach, VP Account Development: Investor Community & Start Up Programs of Peak Hosting, announced that Peak will be a major sponsor in this year’s Silicon Beach Hackathon. Peak will be sponsoring food for the event and awarding a $ 12,000 gift certificate for Hosting services, $ 1,000 per month for a year, to the winners of the Hackathon. The event begins Thursday, June 21st when up to fifteen teams, with five per team, will be selected from the applicants.

Embedded Computing Design announced that MonolithIC 3D Inc.s Founder and CEO, Zvi Or-Bach, has been selected as 2012 Top Embedded Innovator for “breakthrough techniques that enable the fabrication of 3D semiconductor device using conventional fabrication equipment”. The award was announced in the magazines June edition. MonolithIC 3D Inc. was previously chosen as a Finalist of the Best of Semicon West 2011 in recognition of its financial impact on the industry, engineering or scientific achievement, and/or societal impact.
