PwC sees franchises sporting double digit growth, Big4.com reports

Big4.com, the premier social networking forum for professionals and alumni of Accenture, Andersen, BearingPoint, Capgemini, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers PwC reports that PwCs Franchise Sector Indicator (FSI) released recently shows franchisors have continued to achieve double digit growth in the past 12 months.

Big4.com reports that Looking to the future, franchisors surveyed remain optimistic. They are forecasting revenue growth of 11 per cent in the next 12 months and 34 per over the next three years. Profit is tipped a little higher at 15 per cent for the next 12 months and 45 per cent for the next three years.

Franchisors also plan to add an additional 10 franchise units in the next 12 months and 31 over the next three years. Franchisors surveyed credited their growth to improved franchisee performance and strategic direction. Big4.com also notes that finding suitable franchisees remains the number one challenge for franchisors with just over two thirds (68%) saying it is their biggest short term hurdle. Economic conditions were also cited as a challenge, along with funding.

PwC US and Pneuron Form Joint Business Relationship, Big4.com Reports

Big4.com reports that PwC will work with Pneuron’s new distributed technology platform, which will provide ground-breaking data solutions for financial services institutions.

Big4.com also notes that PwC and Pneurons first product in a planned portfolio of solutions will address data extraction, normalization and reporting challenges that plague the financial services industry. Accenture and the World Economic Forum Outline New Energy Architecture, Big4.com Reports

Big4.com reports joint effort by Accenture and World Economic Forum states the path countries take to transform their energy architecture will have some common features efficient, low-carbon and increasingly electrified systems — but will vary according to their stage of economic development and their resource endowment.

New Energy Architecture: Enabling an Effective Transition, notes the shift to new energy architecture to secure sustainable and affordable energy will entail trade-offs and difficult choices for society. To help decision-makers in planning and driving an effective transition and to assess their progress, Accenture and the World Economic Forum have developed an Energy Architecture Performance Index.

The assessment shows while almost all of the countries have improved the efficiency of their energy sector, the share of non-carbon energy in the total primary energy supply is still less than 5 percent for 69 of the 124 countries assessed.
