New York, NY (PRWEB) November 06, 2012

Resource Furniture announces its collaboration with Seattle-based pre-fab builder Method Homes for the U.S. Green Building Councils 2012 Greenbuild exposition in San Francisco. Method Homes will build Green Zones 2012 Professional Builder display house, the only residential structure on display at the convention. The home will be furnished with several unique furniture systems from Resource Furniture.

The display home designed by Bogue Trondowski Architects is a prototype for Paradigm, a new series of pre-fab homes built by Method Homes. Minimizing your homes physical footprint is the single most important decision you can make to reduce your carbon footprint. The systems featured in this home clearly demonstrate that a reduction in square feet doesnt mean sacrificing comfort, function or style. says Ron Barth, President and co-founder of Resource Furniture. With meticulous planning, state-of-the-art design and cutting-edge products and furnishings, this 722 square foot home feels spacious and luxurious. We are proud to be a part of this Method Home team. As Brian Abramson, co-founder of Method Homes said, Method is using this home to educate people on how achievable sustainable living is in todays world.

The furniture systems from Resource Furniture include a freestanding, transforming wall bed/sofa system designed and made in Italy by Clei; a coordinating Home Office that folds to less than 14 deep when not in use; a 17 console table that expands into a dining table for 12; and an ottoman that converts to five seats.

The Clei products feature a lifetime warranty on all mechanisms, water-based finishes, Class E-1 chipboard composition and are FSC-CoC certified.

The project features super-efficient systems and products including a 200 s.f. greenhouse irrigated by the homes greywater reuse system and a photovoltaic solar array on the roof, which will generate power during the event. The homes energy consumption vs. generation will be tracked during the show. The home will be net zero energy and water, and in addition will target several leading environmental certifications, including LEED Platinum and eligibility for 6 of 7 petals of Living Building Challenge.

Greenbuild is the worlds largest convention dedicated to green building, and takes place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from November 14-16, 2012. Rancho Cucamonga, CA (PRWEB) July 25, 2012

Kana Pipeline received its second underground pipeline contract with now key client, Beazer Homes, for the Harvest Tract. This $ 1.1M project for Kana is located in Inland Empires Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and includes offsite and onsite water, sewer and storm drainage systems construction work. This new 161- unit residential development is located at the southwest corner of 6th and Archibald, minutes away from Victoria Gardens Mall and the I-10 freeway with precious views of Mt. Baldy.

The Harvest tract model homes are expected to be up in the next couple of months and Beazer Homes couldnt be more eager to share their unique family-friendly community with us. The Harvest Tract has been designed such that multi-family units will be surrounded by single-family homes calling this a cluster home residential type of community. This type of community is said to have done well for other homebuilders in nearby areas such as Upland that have also featured the cluster home concept. The cluster homes are on a smaller lot, where front doors open into a common green belt area, and where an alley may be shared with multiple other homes.

Pipeline construction work began end of April, with sewer, water pipeline and storm drainage systems totaling nearly 20,000 linear feet of pipe. This is not to mention the underground large yellow half-domed ribbed storm water chambers that were installed measuring 5 in diameter x 4 tall that will be used to retain storm drainage on site before exiting to public channels.

This new residential project will feature three separate product series, totaling 9 floor plans, comprised of condos and 1-2 story single-family homes. These homes will feature spacious floor plans, extra storage spaces and private backyards with one-of-a kind amenities including community gardens, all in a gated community. There will no mello roos, not to mention the advertised ENERGY STAR

Saunas for Your Home Away From Home: Finnleo Panel-Built Outdoor Saunas Simplify Installation and Bring Saunas to Second Homes

Cokato, MN (PRWEB) July 28, 2012

With summer in full-swing, most families with a vacation home or property have had a chance to enjoy their home away from home. While more luxury homes are including saunas in a home gym or spa-styled bath, the vacation home, where people go for total relaxation, can benefit as well, even with a small floor plan for the house. Finnleo Patio Saunas and Metro Series Sauna packages can extend your relaxation to the outdoors, with panel-built saunas designed for outdoor use.

For homes with a back porch or patio, the Patio Series panel-built sauna is ideal. Available in 4 sizes, ranging from 4×5 to 5×7, the Patio series is available with maintenance free siding, cedar shingles or metal roof, and several heater options. Within hours of receiving the sauna, the room can be installed and begin being enjoyed. Because of the smaller size, this is the perfect choice when outdoor space is limited.

For homes on a lake, with pools, or with a larger property, the Metro Series packages offer many more features and a larger size. With sizes starting at 7×10 and as large as 8×12, the saunas include changing rooms, and the 8×12 has an optional shower in the changing room. The rooms are constructed of 4-1/4 insulated panel with Nordic White Spruce, with an optional upgrade to maintenance free siding for the exterior. Because of the size of the rooms and the availability of wood-burning stoves, the Metro Series is a great addition to a hunting camp, allowing fellow chilled hunters to be warmed by the sauna while talking about the days hunt.

Of course, both the Patio and the Metro Series saunas are wonderful additions to main residences as well. If a sauna has been desired, but lack of interior space has prevented the installation of a sauna in the home, these outdoor options may be the solution.

For more information on the Patio Series and Metro Series saunas, contact a local Finnleo dealer, visit Finnleos website, or call Finnleo at 1-800-346-6536 (FINNLEO).

Visit Philadelphias Coolest Modern Homes

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) July 25, 2012

This Saturday, July 28, Modern Home Tours will visit Philadelphia for the first time, offering residents a fun-filled day of Modern architecture exploration right in their own backyard. The self-guided driving tour will feature six architecturally progressive and contemporary homes that exemplify modern living in the Philadelphia area.

Ingrid Spencer, former managing editor and current contributing editor for Architectural Record magazine in New York City, curated and selected the homes for the 2012 Philadelphia Modern Home Tour. The current list of confirmed architects and neighborhoods featured in the 2012 Philadelphia Modern Home Tour includes:

A mid-20th century masterpiece designed by John Whitehead, in Glenside
A trio of PA brick carriage houses converted into a single modern home by Alan Metcalfe, in Center City
A classic 1920s stone colonial house completely modernized by Alan Metcalfe, in West Mount Airy
A truly contemporary modern home designed and built by renowned architect Otto Sperr, in Chadds Ford
The Beta 2.5 House, the last and biggest of the original (8) 100K Houses by Interface Studio Architects, in Kensington
The Belfield Homes, a brand-new subsidized 3-unit single family townhome development in North Philadelphia that is on track to be the first certified Passive House (green-living) in Philadelphia; co-designed by Plumbob/Onion Flats and Raise of Hope.

Modernism has thrived since the middle of the 20th century in Philadelphia, says Spencer. From architects like Eliel Saarinen and Louis Kahn designing inspired public buildings, to prolific architectural masters like Ralph Rapson, with his Bauhaus influences, redefining housing for the region, Philadelphia has some of the most stunning examples of modern architecture in the region. Now, talented and pro-active architects are in the process of redefining the citys residential neighborhoods, working collaboratively and creatively to overcome problems of blight and the regeneration of industrial areas.

Participating homes will open their doors for viewing from 11:00 AM 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 28, in and around Philadelphia. Tickets are only $ 25 in advance; $ 30 on the day of the tour; Kids under 12 are FREE. The 2012 Philadelphia Modern Home Tour is being sponsored by Haiku Fans.

New Antler Homes Arts & Crafts Home in Berskhire Launched

Berkshire (PRWEB UK) 20 June 2012

Roebuck Grange is in a unique setting as it stands in 5.25 acres of mature grounds with a natural pond and lawns, several mature specimen trees and a paddock. This sylvan setting is on the edge of the hamlet of Maidens Green close to Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead, Reading with swift access to the M4 or the M3.

The electric gates to Roebuck Grange swing open to reveal an imposing property. The eye is immediately drawn to the baronial arched timber front door that gives a tantalising foretaste of the luxurious interios. All 5,500 sq ft of Roebuck Grange have been meticulously planned, refined and honed to create a modern English manor house and, from the soaring double storey hall that is dominated by a bespoke white oak staircase, there is a synergy in the Arts and Crafts architecture here that creates a fusion of space, taste, balance and style.

The windows and French doors in the drawing room are almost 8 tall giving access to the terrace and make the most of the views through the trees and over the pond and lawn towards the greenbelt paddocks. The reception rooms in Roebuck Grange have been designed for elegant living and, with ceilings just over 3 metres high, they are light, bright and well proportioned.

The house lends itself just as easily to large parties as informal, intimate gatherings because there is so much space and many features to make entertaining easier. However, the heart of this property is the 40 feet long kitchen/family room. The hand crafted cabinetry has been designed and made by Charles Yorke and includes European oak units with sleek granite worktops that were carved by a team of craftsman. The kitchen appliances include a range cooker, two fridges, coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher.

All five bedrooms are large doubles with ceilings just a shade under 3 metres high. The bathrooms and en suites are all different and fitted with Villeroy and Boch sanitary ware and bespoke coloured vanitory units.

Chris Warner, Antler Homes sales and marketing director, says: Roebuck Grange epitomes our ability to design new homes where light, space and character are combined with modern efficiency and luxury but Roebuck Grange also includes all the traditional qualities that people cherish in period properties high ceilings, elegant proportions, large windows, sloping ceilings in the bedrooms, solid wood floors and doors and timber lead-light windows.

Chris adds: Having said all of that, what makes Roebuck Grange so special is its setting. The grounds attract an abundant range of wildlife and the natural pond, tall trees and the hedgerows along the paddock boundary are home to many ducks, small birds and deer. This property is large and exclusive and so much more – it is uniquely secluded, private, quiet and idyllic.

Roebuck Grange is for sale for
