Kidpreneurs Create Pinterest Marketing Graphic for PinAlerts.com Launch

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) May 31, 2012

The founders of http://www.PinAlerts, formed a unique partnership with two talented kidpreneurs to help launch their new Pinterest tool.

From their research, co-founders Janet Thaeler and Paul Wilson found businesses have found success a how to graphic. This type of graphic outlines the steps to sign up and use a service, aligned in a vertical format to fit Pinterest. A how to graphic is a way to market a business on Pinterest which lacks a physical product to display.

PinAlerts.com partnered with the Sabra sisters to create the graphic. They came up with 5 steps to register and start getting PinAlerts. The free service sends an email whenever someone pins something from a tracked website. Pinterest already sends an email whenever a pin thats already on the site gets repinned. However, Pinterest doesnt alert people when someone saves content from another web site.

A how to graphic not only shows people how to use the tool but also markets the service at the same time. PinAlerts.com founders Paul Wilson and Janet Thaeler enlisted the Sabra sisters (ages 10 and 11 years) to come up with a way to show how to use the service. The sisters took screenshots of each step as well as creating original graphics. The sisters are entrepreneurs (or as they say – kidpreneurs).

Not only are the kids good at graphic design, theyre also professional bloggers (who blogged about the process of creating the graphic). Based on their Alexa ranking and being under the ages of 18, their blog KidbloggersClub is the worlds #1 kids blog.

This is not the first time the girls have partnered with a business. Under the direction of their mom, Ponn Sabra of AmericanMuslimMom, the sisters have turned what started out as a homeschooling project into an actual business. As such theyve been able to secure their own sponsors and advertisements.

The Sabra girls beta test, review, and advise on product development for nearly a dozen educational software, virtual worlds, and websites. They were recently accepted to Stanford Universitys Education Program for Gifted Youth and community college. Next the sisters (along with their youngest sister) will add the title author to their list of credentials. The three have a contract to write a series of books that helps make history fun for kids – due to be published this Fall. They certainly made the launch of PinAlerts more fun through their enthusiastic and professional contribution.

Colortrac, the Leading Innovator in the Field of Wide Format Scanning Technology, Announce the Launch of Their New High Speed SmartLF SC 42 Large Format Production Scanner

(PRWEB) June 17, 2012

The SmartLF SC 42 wide format scanner has been designed with many new and productive innovations to meet the needs of high volume scanning users in AEC, CAD, GIS and Copyshop or Service Bureaus.

Commenting on the new scanning technology, Peter Brown Colortrac Executive Director said The new SingleSensor digital imaging technology for the SmartLF SC 42 wide format scanners is an important new Colortrac invention. The SingleSensor is a single full width 42 inch array of Contact Imaging Sensors (CIS) that are housed in a robust structure and pre-aligned, giving higher optical quality and improved match between sensors. The full width SingleSensor has 50,400 pixels giving it an optical resolution of 1200dpi and a maximum scanning resolution of 9600dpi. It also uses a bi-directional white LED lighting system that optimises the illumination of the scan object whilst giving an Instant-on response. This lowers power consumption as the lights are only on whilst scanning and eliminates the effects of shaded areas caused by creases or folds in the original documents.

The SmartLF SC 42 is capable of scanning monochrome documents at 13 inches/sec and color at 6 inches/sec. To improve the document feeding capabilities at these increased scanning speeds, it incorporates a new single roller document feed mechanism that holds the document firmly up against the SingleSensor lens. This allows it to handle a variety of document types including creased, fragile or even thin media such as newspaper.

The SmartLF SC 42 is also the first large format scanner to utilise the new SuperSpeed USB 3.0 serial PC interface that provides for data transfer at up to 5Gb/sec this is approximately 10 times the data transfer speed of the current USB2 interface. This reduces the time taken to transfer the image data from the scanner to the host PC – this has always been a restriction on productivity. Tests have indicated a realistic throughput of 273 Arch-E (36 x 48) sized color pages per hour at 200dpi resolution or 171 documents at 400dpi. By using the new SmartWorks EZ Touch software provided with the scanner, easy quality adjustment of the scanned image can be made, making the SmartLF SC 42 large format scanner ideal for those large archival jobs.

Summarizing the capabilities of the new wide format scanner, Peter Brown commented The color space of SingleSensor can be set to sRGB or RAW RGB depending on application. The excellent color accuracy of this scanner and the higher scanning and data transfer speeds using the SuperSpeed USB3 interface contribute to making the SmartLF SC 42 the most productive large format scanner available. It also reinforces Colortracs position as the leading innovator in the field of wide format scanning technology.

Academy of Art University and Berghs Launch First of Its Kind International Summer Program

San Francisco, California and Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) June 18, 2012

Today, the Academy of Art University, the largest private school of art and design in the United States, and Berghs School of Communication, based in Stockholm, announced the launch of an international collaboration that provides students from both Universities with a unique opportunity to work on real-world creative projects with industry professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area this summer. The program brings together students from multiple disciplines, including Graphic Design, Advertising, and Web Design/New Media, and provides them with a unique opportunity to learn about all aspects of the creative process directly from industry professionals. The program starts today in San Francisco and will conclude on August 10, when students will exhibit their completed projects from the session.

Academy of Art University President Elisa Stephens said, This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for students to work together with their peers around the world on real projects with guidance from industry leaders. Not only will students leave this program with hands-on experience, but they will get a real feel for the pressures and challenges that creative firms and executives face everyday in meeting deadlines and producing impactful work. We are very excited about partnering with the prestigious Berghs school and welcome their students and staff to the great city of San Francisco this summer.

A class of 25-30 students, half from Berghs and half from the Academy, will be divided into teams of five, where each student will have a specific role as a Project Director/Manager, Strategist/Planner, Copywriter, Art Director, Web Designer, Interactive Designer, or Graphic Designer, depending on project needs.

The semester is broken into two projects with the first focusing on international marketing, planning, and cultural diversity and using a real-life communications case for a local start-up as a base for learning. Students will make a real agency pitch and create strategic plans for an international communication challenge targeted at a diverse audience. The second project, which involves technology industry leader Adobe, covers the entire communication spectrum from insight and strategy to execution and presentation, following a five-step model from real-life agency work. The students will work on a real-life project for Adobe and at the end present their solutions before their client and instructors.

We are thrilled to provide our students with an opportunity to learn from the industry leaders right here in San Francisco, said Camilla Wallander, CEO of Berghs School of Communication. We have always believed that teamwork and collaboration leads to the most creative work and we are looking forward to seeing what students from thousands of miles away come together and produce this summer.
