BobCAD-CAM Manufacturers of The Future Program Provides Powerful & Affordable CAD/CAM CNC Software to Students, Teachers & Schools

Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) November 06, 2012

BobCAD-CAM, the world leader in powerful and affordable CAD/CAM software, recently noticed a high demand for more accessible CAD/CAM software programs in schools. The company launched a new program, Manufacturers of the Future, to answer this demand and provide teachers and students with the latest in design machining software technology at costs that can easily fit into their budgets.

The new program offers advanced CAD/CAM licenses for classrooms, or labs that need multiple stations, at a reduced cost. The teachers are provided with training products, such as instructional videos, and are given technical support to ensure they are successful in developing curriculums and teaching CAD/CAM.

The program was designed to prepare students to enter the manufacturing workforce readily equipped with the necessary design knowledge as well as the actual software required for machining.

Through Manufacturers of the Future, BobCAD-CAM has worked with schools such as Vincennes University, Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design, Cleveland Industrial Training Center, Waukee High School, and University of Michigan Medical Innovation Center.

BobCAD-CAM sponsored Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in Acton, Massachusetts with a $ 53,000 CAD/CAM software grant so that the high school industrial engineering program could have the required technology for their students to excel in their labs.

At this years Indiana Statewide Machine Trades Contest for high school students, BobCAD-CAM awarded software to the first, second, and third place CNC Division winners, as well as the first place Advanced Division winner.

Most recently, BobCAD-CAM sponsored a Canadian student team, Blazing Arrow, in the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge. The team was provided with software and grant money to design, create, and race their own model car against other schools in the challenge. The team took home the 2012 Canadian F1 in Schools Championship, the Fastest Car Award, the Best Collaboration Team Award, and the Best Marketing Award. New Technology Helps Schools Save Money On Yearbook Publishing

Camarillo, CA (PRWEB) July 13, 2012

The annual school yearbook has been a longstanding tradition. However, the sale of school yearbooks by elementary, middle and high schools can be a significant cost to students and schools. Most public schools and some private schools pass the yearbook cost onto the students; however, it is costly to the school when they are stuck with leftover books. Thanks to UBuildABook, schools can have their yearbooks printed for a fraction of the traditional costs and in a shorter timeframe, while eliminating costly leftover books.

Traditional yearbook companies that use older, more expensive, less efficient equipment and have a large infrastructure, such as a direct sales team, have higher overhead and costs, which get passed to the schools in the way of higher prices. Our digital printing is cost-effective and is a newer, more modern technology that allows for smaller print runs and quicker turnaround. This newer, smaller, more flexible format allows schools to order exactly how many yearbooks they need, from 50 to 2500, said Ann Levin, President of UBuildABook, http://yearbooks.ubuildabook.com.

Most importantly, They do not need to order extra books, hoping they can sell them, which the traditional yearbook companies require, Levin said. UBuildABook has a flexible reorder policy if more books are needed.

One of the key advantages for printing with UBuildABook is the shortened turnaround time and flexibility. UBuildABooks yearbooks are printed and ready to ship within 14 days after getting final proof approval from the school. Traditional publishers require strict timelines, many months in advance, for meeting press deadlines. With UBuildABook, this is not an issue. Schools have a longer time period to provide final artwork and layout, allowing them to include coverage of end-of-the-year school activities, and events such as the prom and spring sports programs, said Levin.

UBuildABook also offers many popular options, including personalization of the yearbook cover with photos and the students name, mixed color/black and white printing and the very popular and unique option of ordering a mix of both hard cover and soft cover books. The school also gets a fully bound proof book and a free re-submission of changes when ordering at least 50 books. Most yearbook companies charge money for every change needed, some charge as much as $ 35 per change, making it unaffordable for schools to change any mistakes made once they submit their files. This can easily add a considerable amount of money to the cost of the books that was not accounted for in the students price of the yearbook and cause a shortfall of funds for the school. According to Levin, UBuildABook simply does not believe in nickel and diming our customers. Our goal is to make our customers happy with our service and books so they come back to us every year.

Also, UBuildABook offers schools many different options for creating their yearbooks. Larger schools may choose to use UBuildABooks licensed Yearbook Fusion software, which can network up to 40 computers, and provides Internet Remote Storage to allow customers to work on their yearbooks anywhere with an Internet connection. It will even create class pages by simply flowing the text and pictures from the CD furnished by their school photographer. In addition, schools can use their own software or use UBuildABooks quick-start yearbook templates created to use with the popular software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and the like. These include templates for class pictures, class activities, collages and advertisements, among others. Smaller schools with yearbooks fewer than 80 pages can also create original layouts with UBuildABooks PhotoBook software or create the yearbooks by a combination of both.

All of these design alternatives allow yearbook customers to create their own format and design their books in a unique way. There are no page design requirements, and all covers are yearbook customers unique design with a full-color, custom cover.

Quote requests for yearbook printing are available online at the UBuildABook website at yearbooks.ubuildabook.com. A yearbook quote is returned within 1 business day, as well as a timeline estimate. The company sends out yearbook sample books on request, and part of the service includes access to yearbook templates and assistance from a staff of graphic artists. UBuildABook PhotoBook software is also available to download for free on the website. Additionally, schools are offered the flexibility of 1, 2 or 3-year contracts.

Schools that have used UBuildABook for printing yearbooks experience substantial savings, and some have noticed over $ 10,000 in savings from the traditional yearbook companies prices theyve had in the past. With budget cuts from the state, schools can keep their higher selling prices and use the difference from the lower cost to raise money for the school or pass the savings onto their students directly with lower yearbook pricing. They can also afford to devote more pages to advertisements since the cost of the pages is so much lower. Yearbook sales are certainly still a great way to raise money for the schools and fill in for some of the program-cutting going on in todays schools, said Levin.

UBuildABook is the only printing company with a full service and yearbook support in Southern California. In addition to yearbooks, the company prints a variety of both hard cover and soft cover books with full-color, wrap-around covers. 52.3% of Pennsylvanias Largest K-8 Charter School Grads Going On to Private, Charter and Out-Of-District Public High Schools

Chester, PA (PRWEB) June 20, 2012

When the new school year begins in September 2012, 52.3% of this years graduating eighth graders from Chester Community Charter School (CCCS), the largest K-8 charter school in Pennsylvania, will be attending a private or charter high school, or a public high school outside of the Chester Upland School District.

When the school held its graduation ceremony for 176 students, recently, more than 800 parents, guardians and friends of the school were in attendance. This years graduating class was CCCS largest to date, as the school has seen a dramatic increase in enrollment, as compared to its first middle school graduation, in 2006, which included just 48 students.

Continuing the schools tradition of preparing its students for the most academically challenging high school programs in Southeast Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware, more than half of this years graduates will go on to continue their education at 21 private, charter and out-of-district high schools, including, Episcopal Academy, Newtown Square, PA; Neumann Goretti, Philadelphia, PA; Ursuline Academy, Wilmington, DE; St. Josephs Preparatory School, Philadelphia, PA; Cardinal OHara, Springfield, PA; World Communication Charter, Philadelphia, PA; Girls High School of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA; Allied Health High School, Chester, PA; Wilmington Friends, Wilmington, DE; St. Marks High School, Wilmington, DE; Milton Hershey School, Hershey, PA; New Beginnings Academy, Chester, PA; Concord Christian Academy, Wilmington, DE; Hallahan Catholic Girls High School, Philadelphia, PA; Charter High School for Architecture and Design (CHAD), Philadelphia, PA; Delaware Valley High School, Philadelphia, PA; The School of Science and Discovery, Chester, PA; and Salesianum High School, Wilmington, DE.

Emblematic of the academic achievements of this years graduates was class valedictorian Sujeylee Alverez, who was recruited by more than 30 high schools.

In commenting about the students success in being recruited by prestigious high school programs, Dr. David Clark, CEO, Chester Community Charter School, said, I am proud of the academic growth, maturity and educational achievements of every graduating class, but this one in particular, was exceptional. Its been an especially challenging year to be a student in Chester, Pennsylvania, but when questions about our schools operation or about our childrens ability to learn are raised, I point nay-sayers to our results, because they speak for themselves. He continued, Our graduates are overwhelmingly going on to academically competitive secondary and post-secondary institutions and succeeding on their own terms; and for that I couldnt be prouder. A huge congratulations to the graduating class of 2012!

zumBrunnen Presenting Educational Session on Bricks with Sustainable Mortar at Annual Risk Management Conference for The Association of Boarding Schools

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 18, 2012

zumBrunnen, Inc., an independent building consulting firm, is presenting an educational workshop at The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) and Campus Outreach Services (COS) Annual Risk Management Conference being held June 20-22, 2012 at the historic Hotel Dupont in Wilmington, DE. The conference will bring together boarding school leaders and senior administrators for an in-depth look at best practices on key risk management issues. The conference will help boarding schools identify, evaluate and manage risk by exploring proven policies and practices that are legally sound, fiscally prudent and logistically feasible. John zumBrunnen, Founder and President of zumBrunnen, Inc., will present an educational session focusing on the essential resources executives need in their tool bag to identify and mitigate risk associated with poorly-managed facilities. His session is titled Bricks with Sustainable Mortar.

Executives will learn how to identify facility management teams that are not up to current standards utilizing a self-assessment tool. They will also learn about various methodologies and proprietary techniques used for facility assessment and how to integrate these concepts and tools into a replacement reserve plan. Attendees will discover how information gathered from the assessment process and budgeting phase can yield a truly dynamic report (not a one-time, static report that ends up as a dust cover in a year or two) that ultimately helps lower risk, reduce operating costs and lessen environmental impact.

The building consultants at zumBrunnen specialize in providing educational clients with comprehensive facility assessments and capital replacement reserve budget studies, trademarked as Campus Wide FacilityForecast
