Sony Announced the DSC-RX100 Professional Compact Camera

NYC, NY (PRWEB) June 06, 2012

B&H Photo Video is excited to share the release of the new Sony DSC-RX100 Professional Compact Camera, which features a large 1″ sensor, and an ultra-bright Carl Zeiss f/1.8 lens. It also features a handy control ring for easy access to aperture settings, for total creative freedom.

Sonys newly-announced DSC-RX100 is a unique compact camera in design and performance. While it takes on the demeanor of a small, simple-to-use camera, it also provides a great deal of appeal for even the professional photographer. The Sony DSC-RX100 camera control range includes modes that will provide auto exposure and scene-recognition tactics, or it can be set to full-manual mode.

The Sony DSC-RX100 design is also reminiscent of an interchangeable-lens camera, and features a rotating control ring at the front that allows one to control many of the cameras settings, including focus and aperture settings. Beneath the sleek design is an impressive 1.0-inch 20.2MP sensor for outstanding image quality, and an incredibly fast Zeiss f/1.8 lens for low-light shooting and greater control over selective-focus applications. A premium multi-layered T* coating also dramatically reduces ghost and flare caused by light reflection.

Capture the decisive moment with up to 10fps

Capture full 20.2 megapixel resolution images at up to 10 frames per second, helping to ensure that the decisive moment is captured, such as the soccer ball flying into the goal. In addition, a mechanical shutter helps reduce distortion when continuously shooting moving subjects.

High speed Auto Focus

To improve focusing speed and sensitivity, the Exmor CMOS sensor uses its rapid throughput to deliver high-quality image signals to the cameras BIONZ processor, which provides intelligent response data to a new high-speed actuator motor in the lens. The result is fast, DSLR-like focusing speeds even in low light.

CloudLink Partners With App47 to Empower Millions of Android Tablet Devices

Reston, VA (PRWEB) June 05, 2012

App47, a Northern Virginia-based provider of advanced enterprise mobile application management services, recently announced its partnership with CloudLink, an Austin, Texas, company that connects Android tablets to strategic applications and cloud services. The two companies have collaborated to equip tablets with innovative content and capabilities at the manufacturing level by preloading the devices with a customized toolbox featuring best-of-breed applications and cloud solutions.

Were looking forward to launching the solution platform within the next few weeks, said CloudLink founder Brandon Frye. CloudLink empowers our tablet partners with the ability to differentiate in a competitive marketplace, at the same time solving their internal storage limitations and security concerns.

Frye noted that CloudLinks Android tablet Toolbox, powered by App47, currently includes cloud storage, security, remote desktop, print sharing, credit card processing services, password management, and a host of other business-critical apps. In addition to App47, partners include SugarSync, PrintShare, Avast, F-Secure, Mobile Dynamix, PayAnywhere, EasySign Mobile, and Catch.

We plan continual enrichment to our broad selection of best-of-breed applications, allowing customers to truly leave their laptops behind, added Frye. All of these will be easily available and manageable thanks to App47.

Reinforcing the effectiveness of the Toolbox solution with respect to enterprise mobile app management, App47 CEO Chris Schroeder explained that whether youre like CloudLink, who will be providing millions of users with a pre-populated marketplace, or you’re a smaller organization with hundreds of employees, the app store approach is ideal for any enterprise that needs true mobile app lifecycle management.

This isnt just about easy app installation, said Schroeder. This is about mobile app management from deployment through upgrade, evaluating security, and providing ultra-deep performance analytics. The app store certainly facilitates app acquisition, but our Mobile Application Management (MAM) solution is what really brings our value to the partnership.

Schroeder went on to detail how CloudLink partners will now have previously unavailable insight when evaluating app performance, seeing much more detail than merely whether or not an app was downloaded and deployed. Analytics will be as specific as time and length of use, implementation of specific in-app features, even device and network operational conditions conducive to performance troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Based in Austin, Texas, CloudLink connects tablets to strategic applications and cloud services, dramatically advancing the capabilities of tablets for a range of consumers from entry level to enterprise users. Equipping tablets with innovative content and capabilities at the manufacturing level, CloudLink preloads best-of-breed applications and cloud solutions, creating a mobile devices productivity toolbox. Weather Central Offers First U.S. Showing of Wind Power Yield Forecast System at AWEA 2012

San Diego, CA and Madison, WI (PRWEB) June 04, 2012

Weather Central, LP, is presenting its groundbreaking new Wind Power Yield Forecast (YIELD FORECAST) for the first time in the U.S. at AWEA 2012 at the Georgia Congress Center, Atlanta Georgia in Booth 2950. The YIELD FORECAST system is unique because it has been purpose built for the wind industry, which loses $ 500 million annually as a result of inaccurate forecasts that were not designed to the unique requirements of wind parks.

Weather Central also announces that YIELD FORECAST has begun testing at the Madison Gas and Electric Top of Iowa wind park. Similar tests are underway at multiple wind parks in Europe.

Solid forecasting is essential to mitigating the operating risk of wind parks, said Steve Smedberg, Weather Central senior vice president for enterprise. YIELD FORECAST is simply the most advanced system of its kind, bringing together decades of forecast experience, proprietary high resolution data sets, and advanced computing technology. Our exclusive methods of customizing the toolkit at the level of individual turbines are producing unprecedented forecast precision.

Weather Central YIELD FORECAST will provide wind park operators and utilities with more accurate, actionable predictions for the power output for the following 24-48 hours to help them extract the maximum value from the wind-generated power. YIELD FORECAST specifically addresses the need for operators to predict their output on a day-ahead basis and to prepare responses to real-time fluctuations in output. Globally, poor forecasts are estimated to cost wind operators in excess $ 500 million (U.S.) due to: having to sell excess power at low or negative prices, being forced by shortfalls to buy energy from other sources in the real-time market in order to meet commitments, and having to pay penalties and tariffs imposed on them for inaccurate yield forecasting.

YIELD FORECAST is unique because it is the only solution for the wind energy industry where a single company controls the entire forecast chain. This provides Weather Central with unmatched flexibility to optimize the forecast not just for each wind park, but actually at the level of individual turbines for peak precision. The Weather Central YIELD FORECAST solution combines on-site data feedback and input from the customer with proprietary Weather Central technologies including:

MicroCast numerical weather prediction model
-Advanced neural network and other statistical analysis

DataCloud data serving technology
-Interactive map-based visualization tools
