Study Breaks College Media Presents Must-Read Marketing Strategies for Utilizing the Popular Technology Known as GIFs in Email Marketing, Social Media and Web Graphics

Austin, TX (PRWEB) June 06, 2015

A Brief History of GIFs:

The GIF has been adding motion to still imaging since 1987. In the beginning, GIF animation was reserved for the pros; the only people building them were clip art enthusiasts and pre-social media innovators looking to take their content viral. But as the development of sharing technology launched video content into the forefront, more and more GIF images started popping up within Internet space (thanks to a mixture of supply/demand and improved GIF generator technology). Today, companies like Cinegif and Cinemegraphs.com are making it easy for small businesses to build beautiful GIF images designed to upgrade a marketing campaign or support a new wave of premium web advertising.

Marketing with Gif:

-Email Marketing-

Looking to cut through email marketing noise? Perhaps a well-placed, high-res GIF image is just the answer for spicing up one’s ROI. With email marketing growing at about a 20% annual rate, marketers are looking harder than ever for techniques to instantly separate themselves from the rest of the competitors in their field. A unique, flowing image certainly fits that bill. In fact, companies like Coca Cola, American Apparel, and HubSpot are already rolling out GIF animation in their email marketing structure.

-Social Media-

One of the most advantageous components of modern day GIFs is how multi-dimensional they are. Video clips, memes, and multiple photography shots can all be edited to form one marketing tool. When GIF builders stumble upon a trending form of Internet culture (memes last year, for example), they can adapt their GIFs to meet that model, share it on social media pages and greatly increase their chances of promoting viral content. (Take, for example, Experian Marketing Services, a company claiming it’s seen 72% of its clients whove utilized animated GIF’s or cinemagraphs experience higher transaction-to-click rates.)

-Web Graphics-

Maintaining an updated web graphic is important to most businesses looking to stay on top of a fast-paced industry. After all, one isnt likely to view a clearly outdated site and claim, “Wow these guys really have it together!” But designing online eye candy is more important than just saving face. Recruiting GIF technology to one’s site could boost ad revenues, as ad men are continuously intrigued, fascinated and won over by both aesthetics and improved click-through rates.

Harry Stendhal Presents – Fluxcity: Prefabricated/Modular Solution for Social Housing

New York, New York (PRWEB) June 18, 2012

George Maciunas/Fluxus Foundation is pleased to present Fluxcity: Prefabricated/Modular Solution for Social Housing. The exhibition will open in September 2012 with a conceptual web exhibit and related works will be available to view at the foundation exhibition space at 454 West 19th St.

Sustainability has never been a more pressing need in the state of current socio-economic trends. George Maciunas, who stated efficiency is giving the most performance for the least cost, invented the 1900-square-foot prefabricated mass building system known as Fluxhouse as an flexible solution for social housing. Echoing MoMa curator Pedro Gadanhos famous statement, curating is the new criticism, the exhibition will engage the concept of urban sustainability through adaptive design solutions.

Influenced by Le Corbusier and Buckminister fullers geodesic dome, Maciunas invented the structural framework of extruded aluminum beams and columns useful for prefabricated construction while working at Olin Mathieson. Copyrighted in 1965 as an improved design to Soviet Block Housing and Levittowns, Fluxhouse is a modular unit based on a minimum number of components and a simple manufacturing method of fabrication and construction. With simple tooling requirements, the manufacturing process is readily adaptable to existing automation systems. Easily customized to residential, institutional, industrial, and agricultural functions, the Fluxhouse unit can be multiplied to construct buildings of any size and configuration. Naturally eco-friendly, Fluxhouse is resistant to natural disasters including fires, floods, earthquakes, and hurricanes, as well as deterioration caused by rot, termites, corrosion, and discoloration.

Maciunas, who is known as the Father of SoHo for gentrifying this neighborhood with artists cooperatives, envisioned Fluxcity as an adaptive knowledge-city manifesting collective intelligence into the built environment. As the world faces its greatest economic challenges due to poor speculation in property developments and an expanding global population, prefabricated systems like Fluxhouse hold their greatest potential as a cost efficient government sponsored solution used to repair lower and middle class communities and raise the standards of living for the world today.

The commercial applications of Fluxhouse are examined in the newly published An Assessment Report. Eric Gould, founder and director of Helicon Design Group, and architects Scott Weinkle and Mauricio Arduz will present experimental 3D digital renderings of Fluxcity. The exhibition space will display images from Ciphers, the latest project of Christoph Gielen, whose aerial photographs of isolated suburban settlements reveals the hidden geometries of living environments. The topics of architectural consumerism, cooperative living arrangements, nomadism, and urban morphology will be studied in the scholarly works of Stewart Brand, Nikos Salingaros, Christopher Alexander, Michael Haerdter, Bryan Welcel, and Rosi Brandotti among others.

This exhibition will be open as a conceptual web exhibition in June, 2012 at the foundation website http://www.georgemaciunasfoundation.org.

This exhibition will be open to public at the foundation exhibition space 454 West 19th St. in September, 2012.

Both exhibitions are produced and organized by Harry Stendhal.

Young social entrepreneur to tackle the taboo of homelessness

(PRWEB UK) 19 July 2012

A recent graduate from Suffolk aims to diminish the taboo surrounding homelessness and break down negative stereotypes using a range of personal Art Packs and open air art therapy events in London.

Emily Boon Ying Tan, a recent Graphic Design graduate from University Campus Suffolk (UCS), is launching her Drawing Life campaign to act as a catalyst for bringing the homeless and securely housed together.

The concept revolves around a series of open air art events and Art Packs that inspire homeless people to draw. The Art Pack is both an invitation to these events as well as being a personal pack that gives homeless people the opportunity to create art in their own time.

Drawing Life will aim to raise awareness of homelessness and empower participants using creativity, whilst encouraging collaboration with the securely housed and homeless people, acting as a stepping stone for social integration and interaction.

Emily has been presented with a 10,000 Euro grant and up to 5000kg of paper, by Sappi Fine Paper Europe – global paper producer, to make her initiative a reality. Emily received the grant as part of the ‘Ideas that Matter’ initiative created by Sappi to reward designers who wish to use their talents for positive social change.

An independent committee of leaders in the design industry awarded Emily’s Drawing Life initiative for its creativity, potential effectiveness and practicality.

Dirk Peremans, General Manager of the agency Proximity BBDO and one of the Sappi judges said about Emilys entry: A strong insight: if people can create something of their own, if they are able to realise and deliver a finished work, they feel valuable. And that is precisely the objective of Drawing Life. The strength of the approach lies in the attractiveness of the tools. By designing leaflets, a drawing box, in such a way that the message is immediately clear, makes people enthusiastic to participate in the initiative. A fresh example of the golden statement: the medium is the message.

For the campaign, Emily will be partnering with The Big Issue – best known for delivering a magazine that is written by professional journalists and sold by homeless individuals. It has become one of the UKs leading social businesses with a structure that enables the homeless to earn a legitimate income, supporting reintegration into society.

John Bird, The Big Issue Co-Founder, said: Drawing Life is creative, inspirational and very useful. I am pleased that Emily and The Big Issue have worked so well on this splendid project.

Emily will distribute the Art Packs throughout homeless communities in London to begin the process of promoting the upcoming events and encourage creative expression. T-shirts and jumpers will be available at these events, using an interactive element of customisation.

Drawing Life uses art to encourage integration, empower individuals, promote interaction and raise awareness of homelessness, explained Emily. Freeness of self-expression is at the heart of the campaign; art gives everyone a neutral common ground for this stepping stone towards positive change.

I fully embraced The Big Issue’s knowledge of homelessness and the sensitivities of this. The Big Issue share the same passions as myself; in giving homeless people the opportunity to be heard and to not be excluded from society.

She concluded, I believe in Drawing Life and making it a reality was a case of getting others to believe in it too.

Emily initially formed the idea for Drawing Life during her final project at UCS which looked to influence positive change in society by addressing the negative perception of homelessness.

Russell Walker, Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Graphic Design (Graphic Illustration) course at UCS, said: Emily tackled her final Collaborative Project with amazing tenacity and creative passion. This was not just the culmination of her studies on the course, but the bringing together of all the skills and experiences that she had acquired over the last 3 years of her study. The creative results are outstanding, inspiring and life changing.

Social Signals are Taking Over Backlinking in SEO, Daniel Tan Speculated

(PRWEB) June 02, 2012

Savvy web marketers are turning to social media marketing to boost their social signals and spending less time on backlinking efforts due to the new search engine algorithms in determining the best websites.

In March of 2012 Google announced that backlinks are no longer the priority when searching for the sites that will ultimately rank the highest in its search engine. Following suit to Googles initiative, the other search engines, such as Bing, are following suit. Social signals are the new measure for how effective online marketing is going to be in order to rank highly in the search engines and gain the necessary exposure for businesses to compete effectively in todays marketplace.

Backlinks used to be the holy grail of creating an effective online presence and were used by search engines to determine how valuable a website was. The more high quality backlinks a website gained the more of a resource they were considered to be and the higher the search engines would rank them in their search pages. With the onslaught of social media, that has all changed. For a website to become well known, it must gain social signals by way of Facebook Likes, Twitter shares, Google +1s and other social media engagement. This is because search engines realize that real peoples opinions count more than being able to beg, borrow or buy backlinks that have little reference to how much the public actually values a website.

Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Land says, “Both Google and Bing have added many social search features over the past year. Theres also been talk about using social signals to help rank regular search results.”

In order for websites to succeed with social signals, there must be a measurement and tracking systems in place that allows them to analyze and strategically plan their social media marketing efforts. That is WordPress plugins such as Social Metrics Pro comes in. It allows web marketers who are serious about search engine optimization success to have an easy to use platform to track and monitor their social marketing and social signal results.

Daniel Tan, the partner of Social Metrics Pro, who has also worked with several major companies and startups informed that Social Signals are found to have correlation with ranking improvements, as high as 60% on many cases.

“We have been tracking social signals on the sites we manage and we do notice that the correlation of social signal with ranking improvements are now more obvious than the past, and this is an interesting observation”, Daniel commented. “It’s not surprising to see backlinks get less weight and social signals get more weight, as social votes are often backed by a real person, much more reliable than an anonymous backlink”.

For readers who’d like to know more about social signals, Daniel has written a great article on Social Signal.
