In 2003, sweeping reforms were made by The City of Chicago to ensure the safety of balconies, porches and decks. The City began conducting extensive inspections. Building inspectors perform porch and deck inspections, inspecting all elements of the porch including; the joists, beams, columns, stairs, hand and guard rails, ledger boards, connections and footings. All decks and porches must be able to support 100 pounds per square foot.

We expedite every drawing through the Citys Department of Construction and Permitting.
