National Geographic Channel Headquarters Unveils New Living Green Wall Lobby

Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 22, 2012

GSky Plant Systems, Inc., a leading provider of vertical green walls partnered with a team of young designers from Emerson\White Design to complete the installation of the first double sided, 180-degree curve, freestanding Versa Wall at the National Geographic Channels headquarters in Washington, DC.

National Geographic is one of the largest non-profit scientific and educational institutions in the world, and strives to be an international leader of global conservation and environmental sustainability. To reflect this green dedication, Emerson\White designers Kelly Emerson and Stephen White were inspired to design a lobby area that employed eco-friendly systems including flooring, lighting, and materials. The green wall serves as the focal point of the space and is a bold, environmentally conscious statement and testament to the National Geographic Channels core values.

The President of National Geographic Channel at the time approached the creative team with the goal of executing design elements that incorporated the ideals of the organization, while creating a healthy work environment for employees. National Geographic is not simply interested in educating the public about the natural environment and progression of technology, but also in the preservation of the worlds resources. GSky’s green wall system is forward thinking, self-sustaining, and brings living plant life into a space; it unites all of National Geographics ideals as a company in a single feature. The intent of the Versa Wall is to aesthetically convey these ideals as living art, embracing everything nature has to offer and meshing perfectly with the surrounding sustainable and recycled materials.

At Emerson\White, we knew we wanted a major focal point for the lobby – a central design element that made both a “WOW!” impact upon initial interaction with the lobby, as well as an organic sculptural element that provided color, texture, and visual interest to allow exploration and sensorial discovery of space. Stephen White, Designer, Emerson\White Design.

The entrance has become a pivotal point where everyone is gathered to celebrate various events. The architecture of the lobby creates a nice flow that welcomes people into the building, while establishing a branded separate society that people will immediately recognize.

The green wall is not only a conversational piece, but a focal point for our gatherings and celebrations within the channel. Many of the natural attributes of this lobby such as wood, stone, and the green wall, tie back to mother earth and are a reflection of National Geographics core values. Since the introduction of the green wall, employees have taken interest in the plants as they observe their life cycles. Carla Daeninckx, Design Director Marketing & Creative, National Geographic Channels.

Versa Wall has a recirculating irrigation system that is 100% water efficient and self-contained making the system suitable for any interior wall without the worry of spillage. It is naturally beautiful, eco-friendly, customizable, durable and economical offering flexible installation options and a variety of plant selections.

Full Sail Graphics & Marketing Warns Businesses of Vehicle Wrap Scams That are Hitting the Streets

Orange County, California (PRWEB) December 04, 2012

As reported by CBS, Vehicle Wraps are one of the most effective forms of advertising in the market today. One car wrap garners between 30,000 and 70,000 views per day.

Yet with popular ventures there is always negative fallout of con artists and scams intending to rip people off and steal their money. As of late, companies are offering to pay individuals to Vehicle Wrap their cars, making high offers of as much as $ 2,000 a month. With the current and unfortunate economic crisis and the holidays around the corner people are easily falling victim to the monetary offering.

One such scam hit home for a woman named Laurel Dakini who thought that she would be receiving an additional $ 350 a week for displaying a Rock Star Energy Drink wrap on her vehicle. CBS News states that she corresponded back and forth with the alleged vehicle wrapping company discussing the details in full and feeling comfortable with the exchange. It was not until she proceeded to physically go into the bank and cash the check that the bank representatives stopped and informed her that the check was a fake.

As society becomes more immersed in technological advancements and changes in social interaction, the demand for more attention grabbing advertisements becomes prevalent. Many companies are engaging in new, bold and extravagant forms of marketing such as ‘vehicle wrapping.’ To wrap a vehicle is to cover the body of the car with the information of a business or the logos of a company, etc. Many companies use vinyl car wrap as a way to further promote their business, and in doing so are receiving great feedback and a higher rate of success.

If a vehicle wrap is in the best interest of a business, don’t be fooled by scammers seizing the chance to take advantage of consumers. Avoid falling for companies offering you to make money if you put down a deposit. Do NOT wire money to anyone, regardless of how legitimate they seem. Also, if possible go to the physical location of a vehicle wrap company, don’t negotiate finances through email or over the phone. It is important to have visual reassurance that the organization appears to be authentic.

To avoid similar scams, it is a good idea to seek out a certified professional with years of experience and admirable customer feedback.

In light of these terrible scams, there is a plus side for honest business owners. Benefits that come from wrapping a vehicle almost seem endless. Impact Media Using Responsive Web Design as Smartphone and Tablet Use Grows

Wilmington, NC (PRWEB) June 05, 2012

Nearly everyone has shared the same frustration: You connect to a website from your smartphone or tablet, and the formatting is so small or distorted that you decide to look elsewhere.

That’s where Responsive Web Design, rated by Net Magazine as one of the two most important web advances in 2012, comes to the rescue!

Impact Media – http://www.ImpactMediaNc.com – one of the most innovative website design firms in the Cape Fear Region, is using Responsive Web Design to help its clients garner new business from the web, particularly from the growing number of people searching from mobile devices. Responsive Web Design involves a new mindset when it comes to website architecture and web development techniques, and Impact Media is one of the North Carolina firms leading the way.

What’s Responsive Web Design?

“Responsive Web Design is not just about adjusting screen resolutions and resizing images,” as Brian Tucker, President of Impact Design notes, “but really about a whole new way of approaching the web development process, one that’s more fluid in nature.”

Responsive Web Design contends that a website should have the technology to automatically respond to the user’s hardware and preferences. This eliminates the need for a different design and development phase as each new smartphone or tablet enters the market.

Just as importantly, Tucker believes that the use of Responsive Web Design can improve all facets of a website’s performance – from being able to find a site, to how easy it is to navigate, to the number of site visitors who convert into customers. (The Boston Globe’s website is one of the best examples of Responsive Web Design.)

Mobile Searches Expected To Surpass Desktop Searches by 2016

The latest statistics demonstrate that Responsive Web Design is much more than a trend. A recent BIA/Kelsey Report suggests that mobile search will soon become the preferred and most frequently used method of scanning the web.

According to the study, mobile and desktop search will be equally popular late in 2014, before mobile eventually becomes the leader in 2015. By the end of 2016, mobile searches will account for at least 113 billion queries – compared to 85.6 billion from desktop devices.

More Mobile Searches Makes Mobile Marketing Even More Crucial

Tucker notes: “Making sure that your website is optimized for the mobile market – that you have a mobile strategy and that your site is appearing on mobile searches – is also crucial to your success online. In light of the rapid increase in smart device use, we’re changing our Internet Marketing techniques to serve our clients better, and we’ll continue to adapt as the way that Americans use the Internet changes.

In addition to Responsive Web Design, Impact Media is involved in the development and marketing of mobile apps for the IPad and Android markets.

Impact Media Solutions is a full service Web Design and IT company in that offers real business solutions to companies and organizations along Coastal Carolina, as well as regionally and nationally. The firm’s cohesive team of web developers, graphic designers, web copywriters, and network engineers constantly embrace emerging technologies to provide next-level affordable solutions to their clients in Wilmington, Jacksonville, and beyond. Their phone number is (910) 679-4471. More information can be found on their website: http://www.ImpactMediaNC.com.
