HealthCompare Wants Health Insurance To Be Educated And Releases Infographics To Help

(PRWEB) June 12, 2012

HealthCompare, a nationally recognized health insurance comparison site, is releasing new tools in their attempt to help Americans who are in search of health insurance. HealthCompare, who consistently displays concern for consumers, asks visitors that come to their site to ask themselves a series of questions before attempting to find health insurance coverage. These questions are designed to help shoppers decipher what type of coverage is best for them in terms of cost and type of policy.

The questions that HealthCompare encourages consumers to ask themselves are:

What are the consumers current health care needs? Do they currently require medication? Does the consumer have a pre-existing condition? Or are they seeking to start a family in the near future?

Does the financial state of the shopper allow for a lower deductible, thusly giving them a higher monthly premium? Or would having a high deductible (and therefore lower monthly premium) be more beneficial?

Is the consumers physician a factor? If they prefer to continue seeing their doctor of choice, HealthCompare helps them decide what policies allow that.

Are there any other health insurance options for the shopper, such as spouse or parent plan?

Once consumers get their quotes, HealthCompare then helps them narrow their decisions by prompting them to ask further questions, like:

How much will the policies being compared cost them from their pocket when considering deductibles, co-insurance, and co-pays?

What will the policies being compared offer in terms of maximum out-of-pocket expense?

Will the consumers office visits be covered?

Do any of the policies up for comparison offer maternity?

Is prescription drug coverage an option?

How much will the consumer pay for emergency services and ambulances?

Will the current primary physician and local hospitals be accepted under any of the policies being considered?

HealthCompare knows how difficult health insurance can be and wants to help consumers make their decisions with the release of these infographics.

Infographics are unique graphics that are growing in popularity across the web are known for utilizing images and colors to help make complex data from scientific reports, demographics, and studies to make them more easily understood by the casual reader. Reports such as the ones used in scientific studies often use jargon and unnecessary language that makes deciphering results difficult for those without the background for these terms. Infographics compress and compile numbers and meanings into aesthetically pleasing arrangements that illustrate rather than tell. They can also functionally layout arguments for debates, complex concepts or any other topic that could otherwise be considered difficult to understand.

These new graphics explain hardships that can effect consumers when it comes to medical coverage. HealthCompare is nationally recognized for caring about patient knowledge and choice. They want consumers to understand as much as possible when it comes to making decisions regarding coverage that suits their needs.

The infographics released in this series are:

How Not To Get An Online Health Insurance Quote – Designed to educate consumers on the right way to get a health insurance quote that is effective

Instant Health Insurance Quotes Made Simple – Designed to explain how to get quotes the consumers can use

Why Instant Health Insurance Isnt A Good Idea – Designed to educate consumers on the dangers of settling for instant health insurance

The Most Effective Individual Health Quote Does This – Designed to illustrate the most effective ways consumers can get an individual quote

COBRA: Not The Only Option For The Unemployed – Designed to show shoppers how they can get health insurance if they are unemployed

Other infographics can be found here.

Health insurance costs are much more involved than mere premiums and buyers must carefully consider all out of pocket expenses to understand what their policies will ultimately cost them.

About Health Compare: HealthCompare was launched in 2009 to work with brokers and carriers to help individuals and families easily research, compare, buy, and enroll in the right health insurance plan at the right price. Based in Orange, Calif., it delivers accurate, customized, health insurance quotes for the country’s diverse population.

Through a unique partnership with its sister company, CONEXIS, HealthCompare has the ability to quickly reach thousands of COBRA-qualifying consumers and provide them with COBRA alternatives at the moment they become eligible for COBRA benefits. This provides these consumers with an opportunity to enroll in individual or family plans and potentially save hundreds to thousands of dollars on COBRA premiums and, at the same time, rewards referring brokers with referral fee income for the life of each policy.

FX Design Group Tapped Again as Finalist for PROMAX BDA Set Design Awards

Ocoee, FL (PRWEB) June 07, 2012

PromaxBDA, an international association of design and marketing professionals in the entertainment industry, hosts the PromaxBDA Local Awards to celebrate best practices in promotion, marketing and design at local television news affiliates across the U.S. Local Award entries are submitted by news stations or producers of the end product. The Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners will be announced at a ceremony scheduled for June 28, 2012 in Las Vegas at the PromaxBDA Station Summit.

Mack McLaughlin, FXs CEO and Creative Director elaborated on the companys design approach. When we begin the creative process, our team certainly doesnt design for the sole purpose of winning an award. Continues McLaughlin, We design for the clients success and their goals – connecting with their viewers and strengthening their brand. But being acknowledged for design excellence is icing on the cake and we appreciate the recognition.

The two nominated FX finalists share several overall design features including: contemporary, vibrant, light-driven backgrounds; multi-screen monitor arrays; multiple presentation venues and flexibility for different camera shots. And they each had their own unique project goals and objectives.

For KPIX the goals were to create a dynamic environment with maximum flexibility, many shooting positions and upgraded technology. Also, to showcase the CBS O&O graphic look with video and light-driven elements that reflect the Bay Areas tri-city market. FX collaborated with KPIX to create a versatile, vibrant look with three zero-bezel video walls that serve as video canvases to interact with a story.

The dynamic Anchor Wall can feature anything from live shots to moving graphics. The two smaller walls in the Multi-Purpose and Traffic areas are on rolling carts for ultimate flexibility. The wraparound, self-illuminating environment offers numerous shot positions. The finishes and shapes embrace the CBS O&O look: frosted Plexiglas, metal mesh, brushed pewter and variegated shades of blue. The C-shaped columns echo the shape of the CBS eye and graphic montages of local scenic icons reflect the tri-city market. The set, targeted to KPIXs core audience of Adults 25-54 has been extremely well-received by viewers. For photos and video visit http://fxgroup.tv/portfolio/kpix-tv/

For KJRH the goals were to create a warm, versatile news environment that better exploits depth of field on a restricted budget. FX designers focused on redesigning the set layout and the existing weather area to improve functionality. FX worked with KJRH to combine new components with scenic updates of existing ones, including colorful backlit elements, modern finishes, and a high-tech video wall.

The redesigned weather center allows three meteorologists to face outward and converse on camera during Tulsa’s severe weather. The backlit backdrop features frames of frosted Plexiglas to enhance the illusion of depth in HD. The anchor desk is angled asymmetrically into a studio corner, creating deeper camera angles and a relationship shot to Weather. A rolling cart with a 2×2 stack of Ultrathin Bezel LCD tiles provides an alternate anchor backdrop and a focal point for reporter stand-ups. The design for the NBC affiliate targeted its 2554 demographic and has been well received by younger viewers who laud its fresh design approach. For photos and video visit http://fxgroup.tv/portfolio/kjrh-tv/

Giant Octopus, FXs motion design and animation division, and past PromaxBDA winners, also received a bid in this years awards. Two of Giant Octopus motion designs were chosen as finalists in two different categories. WABC-TV was chosen for Image Promotion while KXAN-TV was selected for the News Package category.

In advance of the announcement of the winners, a team from FX will be attending and exhibiting at the Station Summit the second year of an annual event that focuses on local television news affiliates. The 2012 PromaxBDA Station Summit is a four-day conference where networks, station groups, syndicators and local broadcasters discuss and debate the issues, trends and emerging business opportunities driving success in local television.

Space Exploration and Higher Education Will Both Benefit from New Partnership with NASA, Triad Semiconductor, Mentor Graphics and HBCU Communities

Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) June 15, 2012

An Agency-wide effort, the NASA Science and Technology Institute for Minority Institutions, or NSTI-MI, is a three-year competitive program designed to enhance the science, technology, engineering and math capabilities of HBCU students. The unique nature of Goddard’s arrangement is that it also involves a partnership with two private commercial companies.

Goddard, Alabama A&M University, Tuskegee University, along with Mentor Graphics in Wilsonville, Ore and Triad Semiconductor of Winston-Salem, N.C., have entered into a collaboration that will have university professors knowledgeable in microelectronics and computer science working with their students to build a library of electronic designs that can be rapidly and affordably built and used to design electronics for future spacecraft and instrument control.

“One of the challenges in undergraduate education is to have relevant and real design and build projects for students, said Lucy McFadden, Chief for Higher Education at Goddard. With efforts such as this, we have a ready structure to motivate students and give them a real learning environment with an exciting outcome.

Microelectronics design for space missions is demanding. Being able to optimize the size, weight and power of electronics is a mission critical activity for all projects. At the same time, outer space presents a harsh radiation environment requiring electronics to be able to operate under extreme conditions.

“Rapid development of electronics that meet size, weight and power requirements along with radiation-hardening will be critical to NASA’s future exploration efforts” said Lavida Cooper of the Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate at Goddard.

The researchers will utilize a design environment provided by Triad known as ViaDesigner. ViaDesigner is a new electronic design automation tool that enables system-level engineers, who have no previous integrated circuit design experience, to create their own application-specific integrated circuits. ViaDesigner is based on the Mentor Graphics SystemVision

Colortrac, the Leading Innovator in the Field of Wide Format Scanning Technology, Announce the Launch of Their New High Speed SmartLF SC 42 Large Format Production Scanner

(PRWEB) June 17, 2012

The SmartLF SC 42 wide format scanner has been designed with many new and productive innovations to meet the needs of high volume scanning users in AEC, CAD, GIS and Copyshop or Service Bureaus.

Commenting on the new scanning technology, Peter Brown Colortrac Executive Director said The new SingleSensor digital imaging technology for the SmartLF SC 42 wide format scanners is an important new Colortrac invention. The SingleSensor is a single full width 42 inch array of Contact Imaging Sensors (CIS) that are housed in a robust structure and pre-aligned, giving higher optical quality and improved match between sensors. The full width SingleSensor has 50,400 pixels giving it an optical resolution of 1200dpi and a maximum scanning resolution of 9600dpi. It also uses a bi-directional white LED lighting system that optimises the illumination of the scan object whilst giving an Instant-on response. This lowers power consumption as the lights are only on whilst scanning and eliminates the effects of shaded areas caused by creases or folds in the original documents.

The SmartLF SC 42 is capable of scanning monochrome documents at 13 inches/sec and color at 6 inches/sec. To improve the document feeding capabilities at these increased scanning speeds, it incorporates a new single roller document feed mechanism that holds the document firmly up against the SingleSensor lens. This allows it to handle a variety of document types including creased, fragile or even thin media such as newspaper.

The SmartLF SC 42 is also the first large format scanner to utilise the new SuperSpeed USB 3.0 serial PC interface that provides for data transfer at up to 5Gb/sec this is approximately 10 times the data transfer speed of the current USB2 interface. This reduces the time taken to transfer the image data from the scanner to the host PC – this has always been a restriction on productivity. Tests have indicated a realistic throughput of 273 Arch-E (36 x 48) sized color pages per hour at 200dpi resolution or 171 documents at 400dpi. By using the new SmartWorks EZ Touch software provided with the scanner, easy quality adjustment of the scanned image can be made, making the SmartLF SC 42 large format scanner ideal for those large archival jobs.

Summarizing the capabilities of the new wide format scanner, Peter Brown commented The color space of SingleSensor can be set to sRGB or RAW RGB depending on application. The excellent color accuracy of this scanner and the higher scanning and data transfer speeds using the SuperSpeed USB3 interface contribute to making the SmartLF SC 42 the most productive large format scanner available. It also reinforces Colortracs position as the leading innovator in the field of wide format scanning technology.

Aberdeen Releases its New Web-based GUI that Makes it Easy to Identify and Locate Specific Hard Drives in an Array

Santa Fe Springs, CA (PRWEB) June 09, 2012

Adding, removing, or replacing a hard drive typically rearranges the list, says Yuval Bymel, R&D engineer at Aberdeen. These hard drive changes make it impossible to have a label on the system showing the correct order of the drives at any given time. Under ideal conditions, this may be an adequate solution. But when a drive fails, or if it completely disappears from that list, there is no easy way to identify the slot in which that drive resides.

To help data center and IT managers overcome this hard drive hassle, Aberdeen built its Z-Series line of scalable storage products with its proprietary Web-based GUI that makes it easy to not only identify the hard drive, but also pinpoint its exact location in the array. This GUI goes above and beyond the traditional ZFS system to make hard drive swaps or fixes quicker and easier.

Scalable Storage Products

Aberdeens Z-Series is a line of scalable storage products designed to be customized to an enterprises needs. Whether an enterprise needs to store a few terabytes of data or as much as a petabyte or more, the Z-Series platform can handle it. Aberdeen also made sure these solutions would be ready for future use and offers 10Gb Ethernet or 8Gb Fibre connectivity to the storage solutions as an optional add-on.

The GUI built into Aberdeens Z-Series line of solutions creates an accurate graphical representation of the entire array, letting administrators see the physical location of a servers hard drives without manually searching through the array. When an admin clicks an individual drive, the GUI shows its location on the server itself as well as its physical location within the array. And the GUI will also take any changes an admin has made into account. You can rest assured the GUI matches the servers hard drive slot label and retains that order no matter which drives you use, how many you have, or even if you have to replace a failed drive, Bymel says.

The Z-Series GUI also lets administrators select which drive they want to replace while keeping all of the hard drives in the correct order. An admin can even rearrange the order at any given time or move the drives to another enclosure. Regardless of how the admin chooses to arrange or manage the drives, the Z-Series GUI will keep up and provide the same identification and location information based on the new configuration.

Easier To Use

Aberdeens addition of the Web-based GUI serves to make the Z-Series even easier to use in the data center. The platform is scalable enough to support a wide range of storage needs and can scale to as much as a petabyte of storage or more because the GUI makes it easier to locate, swap out, or move hard drives. Regardless of how large or small an enterprises storage needs, Aberdeen can help with a solution that will relieve hard drive headaches.

LinxHurricane Launches New Done For You Service For Online Business

(PRWEB) June 12, 2012

As businesses increasingly seek a prominent online presence, so too do the number of specialty services that emerge to help them get there. The LinxHurricane team has now pulled these disparate, yet vital, components together to create a unique and comprehensive done-for-you service.

They believe that if the growth in websites continues as it did in 2011, their comprehensive service will be as popular as it is unique. The number of websites in the world grew from 355 million at the beginning of 2011 to 555 million by years end (pingdom dot com). They encompass new online businesses, private websites and blogs, and most notably, traditional bricks-and-mortar enterprises.

Publishing a website is no longer the challenge it used to be said Lesley Komlos from LinxHurricane. But the strategies used to ensure that a website has both visibility and profitabily are increasing in complexity.

Successful online businesses have websites that are well constructed, with subtle search engine optimizaton (SEO) strategies in place, and a combination of video, graphical, and well-written content continued Ms Komlos. But as well, they also need to leverage Social Media to build a rapport with their online audience, much like they do in their offline business.

Not only this, believes Ms Komlos, but assembling testimonials, writing digital reports and ebooks, press releases and email sequences, are all components of a solid internet marketing campaign.

Interpretation Is Key

Ms Komlos believes the LinxHurricane leadership team, with its background in education, is integral pulling these services together; they are used to communicating often complex messages, and interpreting the needs of a diverse audience,

We are bringing together multiple services under one virtual umbrella, and applying them to our clients many different business models she explained. Our clients are pleased that they do not have to deal with different service providers in order to get the online presence they want.

Finding an online business consultant who can provide all of these services is rare, believes Ms Komlos.
